This being the eighth annual ROTC Scholarship Awards Luncheon the central theme was the presentation of four scholarship awards as follows:

Cadet Marquize D. Woodson, Army ROTC, University of North Carolina-Pembroke was the winner of the Meinhardt Senior ROTC Scholarship valued at $3,500; Cadet Jasmine J. Thompson-Yanes, Army ROTC, Fayetteville State University was awarded the Charles Pimble Honorary Scholarship valued at $3,000; two Cape Fear Chapter ROTC Scholarships valued at $3,000 each were awarded to Cadet Andrei W. Fennimore, Army ROTC, Campbell University and Cadet David B. Hudson, USAF ROTC, Methodist University.

Taking part in the presentation of scholarships to the ROTC cadets included: Chapter President Richard Underwood; Colonel (Ret) Donald L. Porter, keynote speaker for the event; and Dr. Charles Pimble who assisted in the presentation of the Charles Pimble Honorary Scholarship.

Scholarship recipients were accompanied by parents, family members, and ROTC cadre too numerous to list here.

Chaplain Tim Atkinson led the assembly in the singing of the National Anthem and God Bless America.
