While the home team lost, our chapter won. Our second-ever chapter baseball game outing at Segra Stadium, home of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, was a resounding success. Despite the score (Woodpeckers 1, Kannapolis Cannon Ballers 7) all our chapter members, their family members and friends had a grand time. The overall atmosphere was relaxed, cordial and cheerful.

Having the affair on the Party Deck was a blessing. We were protected from the sun, had ceiling fans stirring a delightful evening breeze, and had various sitting and viewing options. Everyone was pleasantly comfortable and cheerful. A picnic buffet was part of the fare and it included hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled chicken, potato salad, bake beans, watermelon, cookies, and soft drinks.

Our chapter was recognized on the stadium scoreboard along with other groups attending the ball game. We all whooped and hollered as our chapter was introduced on the scoreboard.

Overall, it was a great evening at the ballpark, enjoying “America’s Pastime” with family, friends, and each other! It doesn’t get better than that.
