An excellent meeting and dinner during one of the coldest nights of the year.

The color guard from the Naval JROTC unit of Cape Fear High School did us the honor of presenting the colors and they acquitted themselves well. Mr. Eugene McLeod entertained us with patriotic music on the key boards and accompanied Chaplain (LTC) Timothy Atkinson who sang beautiful renditions of the national anthem and “God Bless America”.

2LT Stephen D’Onofrio was introduced as our newest and youngest member at the onset of the meeting, and before we adjourned two of our guests, Chaplain (LTC) Atkinson and Captain Wilda McCain signed up as new members as well.

President Chavez presented a “State of the Chapter Report”, summarizing the events and accomplishments of 2013, and outlined the chapter goals for 2014.
