ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
November 13, 2021
The meeting was held in the Iron Mike Conference and Catering Center, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
President Underwood welcomed everyone and introduced new chapter members Colonel (Ret) & Mrs. Andrew Moreshead; LTC (Ret) & Mrs. John Hubbard, and Major (Ret) & Mrs. Ray Walters.
Following dinner, President Underwood began the business portion of the program by presenting a brief recap of the chapter’s accomplishments during the year as well as some of the shortfalls. He made a plea for volunteers to fill some of the critical vacancies on the Board of Directors.
President Underwood then pinned the MOAA award medallions streamer to the chapter colors adding the awards of a 5-Star Levels of Excellence for 2020 and two 5-Star Colonel Marvin Harris Communications Awards for website and electronic newsletter.
In accordance with the chapter's bylaws, the general membership voted to approve the dues structure for 2022 to remain at $20 for regular members and $10 for surviving spouses
Following chapter business, President Underwood introduced Colonel (Ret) James G. Brumit, President, NCCOC the keynote speaker for the evening.
Chaplain Williamson delivered the invocation and benediction.
Casey Benander, keyboardist and vocalist played background music during the cocktail hour and during dinner. She also led the assembly in the singing of the National Anthem and God Bless America.
Jack Britt High School JROTC provided the color guard.
Keeping with tradition, a static display of chapter historical documents and awards was set up for leisure examination by members and their guests.
