ROBERT F. DEMETER CHAPTER SERVICE AWARD FOR 2023

by Richard Underwood

It was my pleasure to present the Robert F. DeMeter Chapter Service Award for 2023 to Colonel (Ret) Addison “Tad” D. Davis, IV at our Awards and Recognition Luncheon on the 23rd of March 2024. The DeMeter award is the most prestigious award the Chapter can bestow upon one of its members. The award consists of a rotating trophy which the recipient retains for a year, and a certificate.

The award citation reads as follows : “For sustained outstanding service as Event Coordinator for the chapter’s annual evening at the ballpark events held at Segra Stadium, Fayetteville for the past two years. Tad voluntarily assumed responsibility for staging this event and made it one of the most popular in the chapter’s annual social calendar. Additionally, Tad’s support of all chapter activities is exemplary, always participating or offering his assistance to improve them. Moreover, Tad is a leader in several other civic and military fraternal organizations and has acted as a conduit for mutual support between them and the chapter. He is an inspiration to all and personifies the MOAA’s motto “Never Stop Serving.” His spirit of service, dedication and contributions to the Cape Fear Chapter and the Military Officers Association of America are commendable and justifiably worthy of this most coveted award.”

Congratulations Tad, you have earned our eternal gratitude for your dedicated service and unselfish contributions to the chapter.
